The CV40 is a fully tube amplifier equipped with Circlotron technology.
Invented by Electro Voice in the 1950s and forgotten by the manufacturers, the Solen team took over and improved it
Thanks to this architecture, the EL84's double push-pull (quad) attacks the loudspeakers at low impedance. The CV40 amplifier thus benefits from the natural smoothness and precision of tube electronics, but also from the characteristic speed of transistor amplifiers. The high-voltage power supplies are regulated, enabling the EL84's characteristics to be fully exploited, and the 40W power output to be obtained.

The “double mono” power supply and the low feedback rate made possible by high linearity guarantee excellent spatialization of the sound image, and even more impressive dynamics thanks to the very low output impedance achieved by paralleling the EL84s.
Maintenance of the CV40-el84 amplifier is greatly simplified by the EL84's automatic polarization mode.
In addition to its original architecture, the CV40 amplifier offers a neat realization in an all-aluminium case. Also, the sequence of the pre heating of the tubes ensures the reliability of the power tubes.
